Pretty Deadly Self Defense is a self-trust building, self-empowering self defense program that helps you stay confident, safe and aware when you’re out making the most of your life – whether in your day-to-day, you’re traveling the world, or you’re starting life somewhere new. Weekly classes & monthly workshops in Berlin. LGBTQ friendly.

Pretty Deadly Self Defense has been helping women grow stronger together since 2009. In March 2016, we opened our first Berlin classes, and have been working with Give Something Back to Berlin since September 2016, offering self defense classes focused on conflict management, de-escalation and integration to Berlin's refugee communities and the volunteers who work with them.

Pretty Deadly is based on founder Susie Kahlich's 17 years of Ninjutsu training, as a violent crime survivor, and her experiences as a woman in the world. She has worked with violent crime, sexual aggression and trauma victims on three different continents and in multiple cities around the world. She is a member of American Bugei Federation and the Bujinkan, Yamato Dojo in Los Angeles, Tendo Dojo in Berlin, and has helped establish Bosen Chicago dojo in the US. In addition to her teachers, Chadwick Minge, Alan Friedman and Brian Simmons, she has worked with Edward Hines and Luo Dexiu in Paris, Jesus Galvan in Chicago, Ed Monahan in LA, and Philip Dao in Berlin.
