Who we are
Leipzig International School (LIS) is a non-profit co-educational day school for students from Nursery 1 (age 1) to Grade 12. More than 800 students from 50 countries visit the school, with the most highly represented nations being the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Russia, France, the Netherlands as well as the host country, Germany.
LIS employs an experienced, well-qualified and highly motivated staff from 17 different nationalities, including the UK, the USA, Australia and Canada.
The school is located in Schleußig, a residential district in the western part of Leipzig, adjacent to the green Clara-Zetkin-Park and 10 minutes by public transport to the centre of town.

What we offer
Leipzig International School offers quality education conducted in English. German language classes as well as special programmes for children with little or no English knowledge (up to Grade 8) are provided. A range of extra-curricular activities in the areas of sport, music, art and languages to foster students’ individual talents and skills are offered as well. Students are encouraged to try out things they have never done before.

The school building has been extensively renovated in 2007 and facilities now include a large sports hall, Hort and playground facilities (upgraded in 2010), well-equipped science laboratories, music and art rooms, an international library and computer centres with internet facilities available for all students.

Individual Creativity
Students learn in an environment aimed at fostering individual potential in a cooperative family-like atmosphere. Students are stimulated to develop their creative talents, placing the student’s own experience at the heart of the learning process.
