In the Amharic language (spoken in Ethiopia) “Edget Baandnet” means something like "growing together". Exactly this is our mission!
As a non-profit organization we provide a transitional home for about 30 children - a place to grow together. In the long term the children will be (re)integrated into families. Thus, we are happy to call ourselves "transitional home" and no longer "orphanage".
Additionally to a home, we provide the children with healthy food, clothing, medical care and the spiritual support in a family-like atmosphere.
The project also includes a children day-house which offers up to 200 children a fist safe place in Assawa, with laundry and shower facilities, medical assistance and so called life-skill training. The children are also able to benefit from conversations with professional psychologists.
