invaliden1 is an artist run space that was founded by Portuguese and Spanish artists in 2005. After having hosted more than 50 shows and artists invaliden1 expands its program, now in the new location in Schönleinstr. 25.
Galerie Invaliden1 is the collaborative product of 6 Berlin-based artists: Sergio Belinchón, Rui Calçada Bastos, Paul Ekaitz, Antonio Mesones, Noé Sendas and Santiago Ydáñez. Each of the artists involved with the project are represented elsewhere, outside of Berlin, with Invaliden1 providing them with a platform within Berlin, to both promote their own practice and that of others. The artists personally invite other artists and curators to exhibit, opening the space for collaboration and dialogue. The exhibition space has gone from strength to strength, with a fast growing programme of events. Invaliden1's website is used as a space to collate and document their work, making it easily available to those who wish to follow the research of those involved.
